If you spend
much time on this website, or in our department, you’ll learn that communication
is more than a tool…more than a successful transmission…more than a cure-all for
social and relational problems. Our department, the largest in the College of
Arts & Sciences, offers students the opportunity to explore the impact and
significance of communicative practices across a wide variety of contexts, from
the latest multimedia websites, to personal and professional relationships, to
the ancient origins of democracy.
At the undergraduate level, we offer eight
different specializations, which span the range of the field of Communication.
At the graduate level, our programs are designed to produce some of the leadings
minds in the field of Communication, whether their studies at VU lead to
corporate careers/advancement or doctoral study. Spend some time on our website,
using the links to the left, and explore what we have to offer. If you want to
hear more, please contact us, and we’ll be happy
to answer your questions about our curriculum, faculty, and programs.
